Playing Card Mosaic

Media 1 Comment

David Alvarez of Leavenworth, Washington, is possibly the first to use playing cards for a mosaic portrait. His subject, Jim Hendrix, was chosen because he loves his music and also grew up near his hometown. The piece was constructed in three days as a school project. Alvarez’s first experimentation with mosaics used post-it notes.
